Ejercicio 5 - Option b · Inglés PAU Navarra Extraordinaria 2025

5. b) You used to spend your summers as a child in the village, and you have great memories. Years later, you've returned and everything has changed. There are hardly any people left. Write an informal email to a friend explaining how you feel and how life used to be.

Solución: Hi Alex, I hope you're doing well! I'm writing to you from my grandparents' village, and I honestly can't believe how much everything has changed since we were kids. Do you remember how lively this place used to be during the summer? The main square was always packed with children riding their bikes, and our laughter echoed through every corner until late at night. We used to swim in the river every afternoon and buy ice creams at the local bakery. The village felt like the centre of the world back then. Now, walking down these silent streets breaks my heart. The bakery has shut down, the school is abandoned, and there are hardly any neighbours left, apart from a few elderly residents sitting quietly on their porches. It feels like a ghost town. Seeing it so empty makes me deeply nostalgic and sad, but at the same time, I feel grateful for the unforgettable memories we shared here. Anyway, we should catch up properly soon. Let me know when you're free! Best wishes, Sam
