Ejercicio 5.a · Inglés PAU Navarra Ordinaria 2025

5.a. Write a narrative about five days without your smartphone. Tell the story of your experience describing your emotional journey, the challenges you faced, and how you found new ways to spend your time. Begin with the moment you handed over your phone and end with getting it back.

Solución: The moment I handed my phone over to my teacher, a sudden wave of anxiety washed over me. It felt as if an essential part of my body had been amputated, leaving me completely disconnected from the world. The first two days were exceptionally challenging. I constantly experienced phantom vibrations in my pocket and caught myself reaching for a device that was not there. The silence seemed overwhelming, especially in the evenings when I usually scrolled through social media for hours. However, by the third day, things took an unexpected turn. Desperate to overcome boredom, I dusted off an old acoustic guitar in my bedroom and started practicing chords. I also began taking evening walks with my dog and having genuine conversations with my family during dinner. Surprisingly, my concentration improved and I slept much deeper than before. When the five days were finally over and I was handed my phone back, I hesitated before unlocking the screen. Although I had received dozens of notifications, I realized that life without a screen had been far more rewarding and peaceful than I had ever imagined.
