Task 5 - b) Descriptive writing · Inglés PAU Murcia Extraordinaria 2021

b) Descriptive writing. Your favorite cartoon / movie / TV program / literary character. WRITE A PARAGRAPH describing your favorite character (from a movie, a cartoon, a TV program, or a book). (You must include, at least, the character’s name; a physical description; the personality, interests, and lifestyle of the character; and what you like the most about this character). (Don’t tell a story involving this character; describe it/him/her!)

Solución: My favourite literary character is Sherlock Holmes, the legendary detective created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Physically, he is remarkably tall, lean, and imposing, with piercing grey eyes, a sharp hawk-like nose, and dark hair neatly combed back. Concerning his personality, Holmes is extraordinarily observant, fiercely rational, and emotionally detached, although he can occasionally display a dry sense of humor. He lives in a cluttered Victorian apartment at 221B Baker Street alongside his loyal friend Dr Watson. His unconventional lifestyle revolves around studying forensic chemistry, playing the violin during moments of contemplation, and smoking his pipe while unravelling intricate criminal puzzles. He has little interest in social conventions or romantic affairs, preferring intellectual stimulation above all else. What I admire most about Sherlock Holmes is his brilliant deductive reasoning and unmatched perseverance, as he proves that logic and critical observation can solve even the most baffling mysteries in human nature.
