1. Many towns in Catalonia celebrate local festivals. Write an article for a travel magazine in which you explain and describe a local festival or celebration that you know well.

Solución: Sample answer: The Magic of Sant Jordi: Books, Roses, and Romance Every April 23rd, Catalonia transforms into an open-air celebration of love and culture: the festival of *La Diada de Sant Jordi*. Often described as the Catalan Valentine's Day, this lively tradition fills the streets with vibrant bookstalls and fragrant red roses. The celebration is rooted in the legend of Saint George, who famously slew a dragon to rescue a princess. According to myth, a stunning red rose bloomed from the dragon's blood. Today, tradition dictates that couples, friends, and family members exchange gifts: men traditionally receive a book, while women receive a rose, though nowadays everyone exchanges both. Strolling down Barcelona's bustling *La Rambla*, you can meet well-known authors signing their latest novels and enjoy traditional sardana dances. If you ever visit Catalonia in spring, Sant Jordi offers an unforgettable taste of local warmth, literature, and folklore.
