1. Many towns in Catalonia celebrate local festivals. Write an article for a travel magazine in which you explain and describe a local festival or celebration that you know well.

Solución: Sample answer: A Night of Magic and Fire: La Patum de Berga If you ever visit Catalonia in late spring, there is one celebration you cannot miss: La Patum in the historic town of Berga. Dating back to the Middle Ages, this extraordinary festival has been declared a Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. During Corpus Christi, the town square turns into a lively stage where mythical figures dance to the hypnotic rhythm of the *Tabal*, an ancient monumental drum. From towering giants to the iconic *Àliga* (eagle), each performance tells a story. However, the true climax comes with the *Plens*—spectacular devils covered in vegetation and fireworks that transform the plaza into a vibrant sea of sparks and music. La Patum is not just an event; it is an unforgettable cultural experience full of passion, history, and community spirit. It will leave any traveler genuinely amazed.
