A5. What can we do to reduce the large amount of plastic that we use?

Solución: Nowadays, plastic pollution is one of the most pressing environmental challenges facing our planet. However, there are several effective actions we can take in our daily lives to reduce its consumption. First of all, we should avoid single-use plastics whenever possible. For instance, carrying reusable shopping bags, stainless steel water bottles, and reusable coffee cups can prevent hundreds of plastic containers from ending up in landfills each year. Furthermore, when buying groceries, choosing fresh, loose fruits and vegetables instead of items wrapped in plastic film makes a substantial difference. In addition, we need to be more mindful about our clothing choices by opting for natural fibres like cotton or wool rather than synthetic materials that shed microplastics during washing. In conclusion, while governments and manufacturers must implement stricter regulations, individual choices are essential to decrease plastic waste and protect our natural environment.
