Ejercicio 5 - Opción B · Inglés PAU Extremadura Extraordinaria 2025

B. Do you think we should buy our food from local farmers? Why or why not?

Solución: Sample composition (120-150 words): In my opinion, purchasing food from local farmers is an excellent practice that offers numerous benefits for consumers and the environment. Firstly, buying local products significantly reduces the carbon footprint associated with long-distance transportation. Imported groceries often travel thousands of miles by plane or ship, which generates substantial greenhouse gas emissions. In contrast, local produce requires minimal transit and packaging. Secondly, food from nearby farms is usually fresher and more nutritious, as it is harvested at peak ripeness rather than preserved for extended shipping times. Additionally, supporting local agriculture boosts the regional economy by providing fair income directly to hardworking families rather than large intermediaries. In conclusion, although imported items may provide wider variety, prioritizing local farmers fosters a healthier lifestyle, protects our planet, and strengthens community well-being.
