Ejercicio 5 - Option a · Inglés PAU Baleares Extraordinaria 2026

5. a) Do you think AI chatbots can affect young people's mental health? How do you usually seek help or advice when you have a problem? Discuss.

Solución: Sample answer: Nowadays, artificial intelligence chatbots are becoming increasingly popular among adolescents. However, their influence on young people's mental well-being is a controversial issue. On the one hand, AI chatbots offer instant, judgment-free interaction, which can make teenagers feel heard when they are lonely. On the other hand, relying heavily on artificial tools can worsen emotional isolation. These machines lack genuine empathy and cannot replace professional guidance, sometimes even providing inaccurate or inappropriate advice. When I face personal difficulties, I usually seek support from real people. Firstly, I talk to my close friends or family members because they understand my feelings and offer honest support. If the problem is academic or stressful, I prefer approaching a school counselor or teacher rather than asking an algorithm. In conclusion, while chatbots can be useful tools, they should never replace human relationships. Seeking help from trustworthy people remains the safest and healthiest approach to coping with problems.
