Ejemplo orientativo: Like many people, the first time I truly experienced homesickness was when I went away to an English summer camp in the mountains for two weeks. I was only fourteen, and it was my first time spending more than a couple of days away from my family. At first, everything seemed exciting: meeting new roommates, taking part in outdoor sports, and exploring the surrounding nature. However, by the third evening, when quiet settled over the camp, a deep sense of longing took over. I missed the comforting presence of my parents, my own bed, and even the everyday routines I usually took for granted. I felt somewhat insecure and found it difficult to fall asleep, constantly thinking about home. To overcome these feelings, I decided to focus on staying active and building new connections. I talked openly with my camp counselor and made close friends with peers who were experiencing the exact same emotions. In the end, going through homesickness taught me resilience and independence, showing me that familiar comfort always awaits us, but stepping outside is how we grow.
