5.- Write about 150 to 200 words on the following topic. Do you think women’s role in Spanish society has changed over the last years? Discuss.

Solución: Over the past few decades, Spanish society has witnessed a profound transformation in the role and status of women. In earlier generations, women were mostly expected to manage households and raise children, with limited access to higher education and professional careers. Today, however, the situation is remarkably different. First of all, women now represent more than half of university graduates in Spain and have entered all sectors of the labour market, including politics, science, and corporate leadership. Legislation has also evolved significantly, providing stronger protections against discrimination and gender violence, as well as promoting equal parental leave. Nevertheless, despite these undeniable achievements, important challenges persist. The gender pay gap remains a reality, and women continue to bear a disproportionate burden of domestic chores and elderly care. Furthermore, glass ceilings still restrict access to top executive positions in many companies. In conclusion, while the role of women in Spain has progressed enormously towards equality, further efforts are still needed in education and workplace culture to achieve true parity.
