Ejercicio A.5 · Inglés PAU Madrid Ordinaria (2ª lengua) 2020

A.5 Write about 150 to 200 words on the following topic: What was your experience with subjects at Bachillerato? Which ones did you enjoy and which ones would you change?

Solución: Sample response: During my two years of Bachillerato, I had an intense and enriching academic experience. Although the workload was demanding due to the preparation for university entrance exams, it helped me discover my true academic interests. On the one hand, I thoroughly enjoyed subjects like English and Philosophy. English classes provided me with practical communication skills and allowed me to explore different cultures, while Philosophy encouraged critical thinking and open debates about fundamental questions. Both teachers made their classes interactive and inspiring, which kept me motivated throughout the year. On the other hand, if I had the opportunity to change some subjects, I would make History more analytical rather than focusing predominantly on memorising vast amounts of dates and events. Moreover, I believe schools should introduce more practical subjects, such as financial literacy or public speaking, which prepare students for real-world challenges. All in all, while certain aspects could certainly be updated to make learning more dynamic, my overall experience in Bachillerato was constructive and key to shaping my future plans.
