Ejercicio 6 - Opción a · Inglés PAU Canarias Junio (Ciencias) 2025

Option a: Write an email to Professor Lord Darzi discussing the impact of social media on young people's health.

Solución: Dear Professor Lord Darzi, I am writing to share my perspectives on your recent review regarding the profound impact of social media on youth health. As a high school student, I observe these effects on a daily basis among my peers. Undoubtedly, digital platforms encourage connectivity and provide access to helpful educational resources. Nevertheless, excessive screen time increasingly contributes to severe mental health struggles, such as anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem caused by unrealistic lifestyle standards. Furthermore, late-night smartphone usage disrupts sleep patterns, directly impairing academic performance and physical well-being. While banning social media entirely might prove impractical, I believe stricter regulations and mandatory digital education in schools are essential to foster healthier habits. Establishing effective boundaries will help adolescents benefit from technology without compromising their welfare. Thank you very much for your dedication to protecting young people's health. Yours sincerely,
